Abstract: [eng] The spreading of european multinational firms in the USA is the most dominant feature of the recent trend of international direct investments.. In order to estimate the weight of european direct investment in the United States, this paper, initialy points out, where a balanced position exists within industrial activities in certain countries. Secondly, it shows that the caracteristics of european and US investments differ and that these investments are at different stages of development. [fre] Les mouvements de multinationalisation européens aux États-Unis constituent le fait le plus remarquable de l'orientation récente des investissements directs internationaux.. Cet article tente, en premier lieu, d'évaluer l'ampleur de l'implantation européenne aux États-Unis en essayant de repérer les secteurs industriels et les pays pour lesquels existe désormais une pénétration équilibrée.. Il montre ensuite que les investissements européens et américains possèdent des caractéristiques très différentes et se situent à des stades distincts de leur développement respectif.
