Restructuration financière au Japon: entre prêteur en dernier ressort et solidarités bancaires

Abstract: [fre] L'objectif de l'article est d'analyser le processus de déréglementation financière au Japon en soulignant ses liens avec les différents stades de la crise financière. De façon plus prospective, il s'agit d'examiner le projet de Big Bang qui devrait modifier sur 1997-2001 les modalités de la concurrence au sein de la sphère financière nippone, tout en identifiant les caractéristiques qui différencient ce projet des réformes entreprises par les Anglo-Saxons. Nous soulignons enfin les principaux effets de ces évolutions sur les relations banque-industrie et, en particulier, sur le « système de la banque principale ». En accroissant l'autonomie des sphères financières et productives, la poursuite de la déréglementation apparaît ainsi comme une des données fondamentales de la recomposition du modèle économique japonais. The aim of the paper is to analyse the process of financial deregulation in Japan and its links with the different steps of the financial crisis. We also focus on the project of Big Bang which will increase competition in the Japanese financial system. Finally, we underline the main effects on the relations between banks and industrial corporations in the so-called « main bank system ». Obviously, this next step of the financial deregulation is one of the most important components of the new Japanese model.
