Abstract: [eng] The repercussions of U. S. investment on the Paris capital market of the euro era . The launching of the single European currency, the euro, beginning in 1999, will totally change the environment of the main financial markets in Europe. Competition is increasing between London, Frankfurt and Paris in their drive to attract foreign capital and increase their roles on the European and world stages. Drawing on recent research concerning the behaviour of American investors, the study examines the future of American capital investment in Europe, the way in which each of the financial markets will benefit, and how these foreign investors are transforming the Paris financial market and French corporations. [fre] La mise en place de la monnaie unique européenne, l’euro, à partir de janvier 1999 modifiera en profondeur l’environnement des principales places financières en Europe. La concurrence entre Londres, Paris et Francfort ne peut que s’accroître pour attirer les capitaux étrangers et pour garder une dimension internationale. S’appuyant sur des recherches récentes concernant le comportement des investisseurs américains, l’étude proposée examine les perspectives d’investissement des capitaux américains en Europe, la manière dont les marchés financiers en bénéficieront et comment ces investisseurs non résidents pèsent sur les transformations tant de la place financière de Paris que des entreprises françaises.
