Abstract: [eng] Macro-prudential Regulation – Strategies and Tools.. The 2007-08 global financial crisis highlights that the preservation of financial stability requires going beyond the micro-prudential regulation by promoting a macro-prudential policy. This latter has to cope with the different dimensions of the global financial risks, especially the procyclicality of the financial system and the problems related to interconnectedness and “ too big to fail” financial institutions. This paper reviews the different tools which could be dedicated to the strengthening of the resilience of the global financial system both in its time and cross-sectional dimension. . [fre] La crise financière globale de 2007-08 souligne l’impératif d’aller au-delà de la régulation microprudentielle pour assurer la stabilité financière globale en instaurant une politique macroprudentielle. Celle-ci doit prendre en compte les différentes dimensions des risques financiers globaux, en particulier la procyclicité du système financier et les questions relatives aux institutions trop importantes ou trop interconnectées pour faire faillite. Cet article fait le point sur les différents instruments pouvant être mobilisés pour renforcer la résilience du système financier global à la fois dans sa dimension temporelle et transversale. .
