Abstract: [eng] The French Banking Sector : a Growth and Employment Lever. . Since the outburst of the financial crisis, French banks acted so that financial stability might be restored and economic growth might resume. During this period, in which important changes in the financial regulation occurred, they proved a real adaptability’s ability. The French banking industry, in which major international banks are to be found, has thus proven its economic and social efficiency and it is most important that future regulations will not harm their business model. . [fre] Depuis l’éclatement de la crise financière, les banques françaises ont oeuvré avec les autres acteurs de l’économie pour renforcer la stabilité financière et favoriser une reprise créatrice d’emplois. Dans un tel contexte, elles ont prouvé une grande capacité d’adaptation à un environnement réglementaire qui a été profondément modifié. Le secteur bancaire français composé de banques qui comptent parmi les leaders mondiaux a fait la preuve de son efficacité économique et sociale.
