Abstract: [fre] Deux petites communes du Cotentin, voisines mais bien différentes, supportent un lourd héritage historique. Des structures désuètes, un « immobilisme » traditionnel, empêchant la remise en cause d'un mode de vie précapitaliste. Aux problèmes agraires s'ajoute 1' « individualisme bocager ». . L'apparition du tracteur n'a guère modifié le tableau. Cultures maraîchères, élevage ? ces spéculations imposent une révision des structures foncières. Seule une décision de l'Etat secouera peut-être la force d'inertie de Morsalines et Crasville, inclues désormais dans une zone de rénovation rurale. [eng] Farms structures and technical progress : Two communes in the french department of Manche : Morsalines and Crasville - These two small communes in Cotentin, next to each other and quite different though, are both loaded with a heavy historic inheritance : their obsolete structures and their traditional ultra-conservatism do not allow any alteration in such a way of life that still ignores capitalism. . The « individualism of the Bocage », more over, adds to agricultural problems. . Tractors have brought no major modification. Market-gardening... stock-farming? In any case, the choices will compulsorily lead to modify land structures. . Rrom now on, Morsalines and Crasville are meant to belong to a « Rural renovation Zone » : it appears that only a State decision might be able to shake the « vis inertiae » of Morsalines ond Crasville.
