Campagnes suburbaines, villes s'éparpillant: que connaît-on du phénomène rurbain ?

Abstract: [fre] Dang un livre récent, l'auteur de cet article a tenté de recenser ce qu'on sait et ce qui reste à comprendre d'un changement assez récent, mais déjà fort sensible, de l'organisation de notre territoire : un nombre sans cesse croissant de ménages, citadins d'orig ne et de comportement, s'en va résider à vingt, parfois trente kilomètres de la ville où ils vivaient jusqu'alors, où le mari conserve son emploi et où il doit se rendre chaque jour. Qui sont ces gens ? Sont-ils nombreux ? Volontaires ou contraints ? Comment réagissent ceux que cette « rurbanisation » touche ? Cela va-t-il durer ? On est frappé, tout d'abord, de constater à quel point un mouvement aussi considérable a, jusqu'à" présent, éveillé si peu l'attention de ceux qui pensent, prévoient, gèrent l'aménagement de notre espace national. Ce désintérêt lui-même fait question. [eng] Suburban Countryside, Spreading Towns - how much is known of the « rurban » phenomenon ? - In a recent book, the writer of this article has tried to sum up what is known and what still remains to be found out about a fairly recent but already very noticeable change in the organization of our country. — An increasing number of families, of town origin and behaviour, are going to live 20, sometimes 30 kms. from town where they lived until then and where the husband still has his job and where he returns every day. Who are they ? Is it of their own free will or are they obliged to live there ? How do those affected by this rurbanization react ? Will it last ? One is surprized at first to realize how little such a large-scale movement has so far attracted the attention of those who tWnk out plan and administer town and country planning. This îack of interest itself raises questions.
