Abstract: [eng] The optimum combination of land and water for the development of dairy production in the Mediterranean area - Fodder models for dairy production in an irrigated area in Algeria are defined following the results of experiments from 1967 to 1975. The efficiency of the water varies according to the irrigation seasons ; the solutions are adapted to the land and water available; forms of complementarity between dry and irrigated zones are defined. The consequences for the organization of animal production, the relationship between irrigation and the formation of the producers determine these choices. [fre] Des modèles fourragera pour la production laitière dans un périmètre irrigué algérien sont définis à partir des résultats d'expérimentations (1967-1975). L'efficience de l'eau varie selon les saisons d'irrigation ; les solutions sont adaptées aux disponibilités relatives en terre et en eau ; des formes de complémentarité entre zone sèche et zone irriguée sont définies. Les conséquences sur l'organisation de la production animale, les relations entre l'irrigation et la formation des producteurs déterminent les choix.
