Abstract: [eng] The aim of economics is not to plan society (no science could). Its aim is to give rational coherence to the various plans that societies produce. . Our societies are changing and all have both a new plan and an old one. In order to make this new plan coherent, economics turn first to ecology which gives information about the non-human environment. It then turns to the social sciences which gives little information. Finally it turns towards the various branches of biology which, in their attempt to provide data, gradually make up a new anthropology. [fre] La science économique n'a pas pour objet de définir les projets de société (et du reste aucune science ne peut le faire). Elle a pour objet de donner une cohérence rationnelle aux divers projets qui naissent dans les sociétés. . Nos sociétés sont en train de muter et comportent toutes un projet nouveau à côté du projet ancien. La science économique pour rendre cohérent ce projet nouveau s'adresse d'abord à l'écologie, qui lui répond seulement sur l'environnement non humain. Elle s'adresse ensuite aux sciences sociales qui ne répondent guère. Elle s'adresse enfin à divers secteurs de la biologie qui, en essayant de lui fournir des données, constituent peu à peu une nouvelle anthropologie.
