La femme ambiguë, à l'écart ou au cœur du monde rural ?

Abstract: [eng] Nowadays, in the modernized, mecanized and sometimes specialized farm, there are no specifically male or female tasks, apart from the work in the fields which remains a manly work. Women have less work than in the old times and it is less toilsome. But on the other hand, leisure and laziness are partners in the local ideology. A woman must not avert from her family, her house and her farm. Any innovation in the field of feminine sociable is a victory upon the social pressure and the prevailing ideology. Today, animating and attending associations of social character is an outlet which is admitted. Thanks to this detour, women may go out and openly begin to take an active part in public life. [fre] Quel est aujourd'hui le rôle de la femme sur l'exploitation et dans la société villageoise ? L'exploitation modernisée, mécanisée, et quelquefois spécialisée, ne connaît plus comme autrefois de tâches spécifiquement masculines ou féminines, mis à part le travail des champs dévolu aux hommes. La femme a moins de travail que jadis et il est moins pénible. Mais par ailleurs, loisirs et paresse font bon ménage dans l'idéologie locale : la femme ne doit pas se détourner de sa famille, de sa maison, de son exploitation. Toute innovation en matière de sociabilité féminine est une victoire sur la pression sociale et l'idéologie ambiante. L'animation et la fréquentation d'associations à caractère social sont aujourd'hui une issue admise par tous. Par cette voie détournée la femme sort de chez elle et commence à prendre au grand jour un rôle actif dans la vie publique.
