Abstract: [eng] Agriculture is part of the international agro-industrial system, but it is also part of a national and regional socio-economic entity. This double integration serves as causal factor for agricultural and rural change. Prospective studies on the future of industrial societies should include research on the future demand for farm products and for land. Hypothesis are then formulated concerning the integration of agriculture and rural areas in post-industrial societies. [fre] L'agriculture est certes intégrée au système agro-industriel international, mais aussi à la formation économique et sociale, notamment à travers l'espace géographique. Cette double intégration commande son devenir. En fonction des diverses hypothèses prospectives sur le devenir de la société industrielle, il convient d'examiner les nouvelles demandes que la société globale adressera à l'agriculture, ses produits, ses espaces. Cette recherche conduit à des hypothèses sur l'intégration de l'agriculture et de l'espace rural à la société post-industrielle.
