Trente ans de développement agricole dans le Morbihan

Abstract: [eng] In this department in Brittany, farm extension groups have been, since the fifties, one of the most efficient agents of change. In their early stages, the extension services were controled by the administration and by the traditional farmers' unions. Later, in a powerful social movement, the middle segments of agriculture, assumed control of the diffusion of innovations thus expressing their aspiration towards different ways of producing and living. The story of extension in Morbihan is thus the story of the emergence of this rising generation which, in a rapidly changing economic environment and in a rural society experiencing deep changes, will express its goals in specific extension programmes and institutions ; it will even take over the farmers' organizations and change the course of the evolutions. [fre] Dans le Morbihan, depuis les années 1950, les Groupements de Vulgarisation Agricole se sont révélés comme l'un des acteurs les plus efficaces des transformations de l'agriculture de ce département breton. Après une phase de contrôle de la vulgarisation naissante par les instances administratives et professionnelles traditionnelles, la diffusion des innovations va se trouver prise en charge par un véritable mouvement social, aspiration de nouvelles couches moyennes de l'agriculture à produire et vivre différemment. L'histoire de trente ans de vulgarisation-développement dans le Morbihan est l'histoire de l'émergence de cette génération montante qui, dans un environnement économique et une société rurale en profonde évolution, va traduire son projet en programmes et structures de développement spécifiques, jusqu'à prendre le contrôle d'organisations professionnelles et infléchir les évolutions en cours.
