Abstract: [eng] The identification of the main actors involved in the US agricultural policy process and the analysis of their strategies permits one to interpret the recent debates and to consider a few likely scenarios. The main actors are classified in two broad categories: economic organizations and public agencies. Among the former, farm organizations and more particularly commodity groups play the most important role. In the latter category the role of the legislators, linked to their party, their seniority and the chamber they belong to must be distinguished from that of the Executive branch. . The consequences of the current US debate for European agriculture may be very great. [fre] L'identification des principaux acteurs participant au débat relatif à la politique agricole américaine et l'analyse de leurs stratégies permet d'interpréter les débats récents et d'envisager quelques scénarios probables d'évolution. Les principaux acteurs sont classés en deux grandes catégories : les organisations économiques et les organes du gouvernement. Parmi les premières ce sont les organisations agricoles, en particulier celles qui sont spécialisées par produits, qui jouent le rôle principal. Dans la seconde catégorie, ilconvientdedistinguerle rôle des législateurs, lié à leur parti, leur ancienneté et à la chambre à laquelle ils appartiennent et celui du pouvoir exécutif. Les conséquences pour l'agriculture Européenne du débat actuel aux Etats-Unis risquent d'être considérables.
