Abstract: [fre] S'installer sur une exploitation agricole, la moderniser ensuite dans le cadre d'un plan de développement met en jeu des capitaux importants. Des enquêtes effectuées au cours de chacune de ces deux phases sensibles de la «carrière» d'un agriculteur permettent d'apprécier — selon les différents systèmes de production— le montant et la nature des investissements réalisés, la composition de l'endettement correspondant ainsi que leur impact sur le revenu des exploitants. [eng] Settling down on a farm and then modernize it with the help of a development scheme envolves a high level of investment. Surveys made during these two critical periods of the life of a farmer show according to the various systems of production the level and the nature of the investments involved, the structure of liabilities and their consequences on the farmers income.
