Abstract: [eng] The big farming co-operative groups developed during the seventies in a variety of ways which can be gathered into two groups. On the one hand the big polyvalent co-operatives in the west of France have experienced internal growth largely because of their variety and of the intensification of regional production. On the other hand this expansion has very often been produced by reinforcing specialised production channels. The « Union Laitière Normande » has extended its collection to two regions and has made itself sure of its control over powerful private companies. SODIMA YOPLAIT tooks its strength from a national co-operative network to impose its dairy products and its UHT milk. SOCOPA has favoured very close links between co-operative and private companies dealing with meat production sector. [fre] Les grands groupes coopératifs agricoles se développent au cours des années soixante-dix selon des processus diversifiés que l'on peut regrouper en deux ensembles. Les grandes coopératives polyvalentes de l'Ouest ont connu une croissance interne par la diversité et l'intensification des productions régionales. Mais plus souvent, cette croissance s'est effectuée par le renforcement de filières spécialisées. L'Union laitière normande étend sa collecte sur deux régions et s'est assurée le contrôle de firmes privées puissantes. SODIMA YOPLAIT s'appuie sur un réseau coopératif national pour imposer ses produits frais et son lait UHT. SOCOPA a favorisé une étroite imbrication entre sociétés coopératives et privées du secteur viande.
