Abstract: [eng] After the second world war, increasing production was the main purpose of the french agronomic thought. This problem was a real one, but it is now solved. For the time being, we have to think the unresolved problems in the field : how to find a compromise between « bio » agriculture and intensive forming methods ? How to save energy ? Is there feasible production system (including forestry) in mountainous areas ? How to preserve the existing stock of animal and vegetal genes from uniformity ? How to avoid the detrimental consequences of the demographic explosion in developing countries ? How to develop tropical agronomic research ? [fre] La pensée agronomique en après seconde guerre mondiale, par nécessité d'accroître la production. Il s'agissait là d'un problème qui fut réel, mais il est maintenant résolu. A l'heure actuelle, il faut se pencher de la même façon sur les problèmes non résolus : trouver un compromis entre l'agriculture biologique et l'agriculture intensive, économiser l'énergie, trouver des systèmes de production convenables pour les zones de montagne, conserver le patrimoine génétique des espèces animales et végétales, maîtriser l'explosion démographique des pays en voie de développement et développer la recherche agronomique, surtout en milieu tropical.
