Abstract: [fre] Nous étudions l'avantage procuré par la diversification des exploitations viticoles entendue à la fois comme élargissement de la gamme des activités et abandon de l'activité viticole, à partir d'un panel de 174 comptabilités suivies sur les années 1984-1991. [eng] Farms income in the gard from 1984 to 1991 : was diversification worth ? . This study investigates the benefits of diversification in a vineyard specialised region in the South of France, 174 farmers accounting data over 8 years (1984-1991). Two meanings are given to Diversification : adopting a mix of agricultural activities or dropping out the vineyard.
