Abstract: [eng] The formation of modernistic farmers group . The reason of this research is to analyse from a particular ground the mecanisms where by farmers were induced to consider themselves or to be considered as belonging to a new social group, to a new farmer elite in France at the beginning of the sixties. [fre] Le but de cette recherche était d'analyser, à partir d'un terrain précis, les mécanismes par lesquels des agriculteurs ont été amenés à se considérer et à être considérés comme faisant partie d'un "nouveau groupe social", d'une "nouvelle élite" paysanne apparue en France au début des années 1960.
