Abstract: [fre] Du fait de la baisse constante du nombre d'exploitations agricoles et du nombre insuffisant d'enfants d'agriculteurs susceptibles de s'installer, l'installation dite « hors cadre familial » est encouragée. Au travers d'études de cas monographiques, l'article a pour objectif de cerner les motivations de ces « nouveaux agriculteurs », de présenter les difficultés spécifiques qu'ils rencontrent- en termes de travail comme en termes d'accès au foncier - et d'analyser les stratégies qu'ils mettent en œuvre pour contourner ces difficultés. Avec ces exemples, c'est aussi la sélectivité et la cohérence des politiques de soutien à l'agriculture qui sont interrogées. [eng] Farming and social mobility these farmers from another world . Due to the constant decrease in the number of farms and to the insufficient number of descendents of farmers likely to get started on a farm, settlement outside of the family structure is encouraged. Using monographical cases studies the present article aims at understanding the motives of these "new farmers", at presenting the specific hardships they have to go through in term of work as well as in term of access to property and at analyzing the strategies they develop to overcome these difficulties. Through these examples, the selectivity and coherence of agricultural aids strategies are also questioned.
