L'Europe centrale, centre de l'Europe?

Alain Revel

Économie rurale, 2000, vol. 255, issue 1, 154-168

Abstract: [eng] Central european countries, centre of Europe? - Central Europe has always been considered as a rural and agricultural dwarf. Nevertheless after the accession of the 10 CEECs, 100 millions of residents, of which 40 millions rural and 10 millions living from agriculture will be added to the eu. The widening of the EU will provoke a great mutation and will push the cap toward new problems, beyond those coming from Agenda 2000 and the wro negotiations. This process of widening will continue for long as Europe has no limit on its east side. Also long periods of post accession transition will be necessary in order that structural and agricultural adjustments be realised without slowing down the economic integration.
