Abstract: [fre] Economies externes et croissance urbaine. . Analyse, du point de vue de l'économiste et du sociologue, d'un type particulier d'externalités. Pour expliquer son intervention dans le fonctionnement de la ville, celle-ci est analysée en tant que système auto-régulé et entropique. Les économies d'urbanisation concourent à l'efficacité du système en lui permettant d'obtenir, au moindre coût, les biens et services nécessaires à ses fonctions.. Cependant leur intervention dans le processus économique soulève des difficultés : quant à la faculté de les créer ; quant aux phénomènes d'encombrement, d'exclu­sion et aux conflits qu'elles suscitent. A ces faits se surimposent la rente foncière ef les distorsions attachées aux plans d'aménagement. Ces difficultés reproduisent les inégalités du pouvoir de négociation des acteurs urbains. [eng] Externalities and urban growth. . Analysis of a particular type of externality, from the point of view of the economist and the sociologist. To explain its intervention in the functionning of the town, this is analysed as an auto-regulated and entropie System. The economies of urbanisation contribute to the efficiency of the system by allowing it to obtain at loiv cost the goods and services necessary for its functions. Howevev the intervention of these externalities in the economic process gives rise to certain difficultes : with regard to the: ability of creating them ; with regard to the phenomena of overloading, exclusion and the resulting conflicts. To these are added land rent and the distortions of regional planning. These difficulties reproduce the inequality of the power of negotiation among urban agents.
