Abstract: [eng] Reflexions on public economy notion . . The marxist theory of State Monopoly Capitalism allows fruit full hypotheses to be formulated concerning the explanation of the ensemble of facts qualified as Public Economy. The aim of this article is to give a glimpse of it. Public Economy is not simply defined by referring to a subject, the State. In contemporary capitalism, it is characterized by the absence of profit as a mean, as an aim, and as an immediate resuit, and by its effect of lifting up the rate of profit of the social capital valorised in the big private monopoly groups. The article developes, starting from there, a criticism of the non-marxist theories of Public Economy, trying to hem-in their positive aspects and the difficulties on which they stumble. La théorie marxiste du capitalisme monopolistique d'Etat permet de formuler des hypothèses fructueuses concernant l'explication de l'ensemble des faits quali­fiés d'économie publique. Le but de cet article est d'en donner un aperçu. L'activité publique ne se définit pas simplement par référence à un sujet, l'Etat. Dans le capitalisme contemporain, elle est caractérisée par l'absence de profit comme moyen, comme but et comme résultats immédiats, et par son effet de relèvement du taux de profit du capital social mis en valeur dans des grands groupes monopolistiques privés. L'article développe, à partir de là, une critique des théories non marxistes de l'économie publique, essayant de cerner leurs aspects positifs et les difficultés sur lesquelles elles achoppent.
