Abstract: [fre] Cet article relève de la sociologie de la science plus que de l'économie et celle-ci n'est traitée que comme un domaine parmi les autres dans une revue des sciences sociales en Grande-Bretagne. L'auteur travaille à partir de documents préparés pour le SSRC (Conseil de la Recherche en Sciences Sociales). Il passe en revue les orientations thématiques, les modes d'organisation, les débouchés et les moyens des disciplines suivantes : anthropologie, science politique, géographie, histoire économique et sociale, sociologie, économie, et pour finir sciences du management. Forces et faiblesses sont ainsi bien mises en évidence et l'article donne matière à une réflexion comparative internationale qui tienne compte des spécificités organisationnelles. [eng] On economics and social sciences in Britain. . This paper is an essay in sociology of sciences and economics is just one topic among other s in a broad review of the social sciences in Britain. The data corne from surveys prepared under sponsorship of the SSRC and deal with the thematic orientations, the organizational features, the job opportunities and the ressources in several fields : anthropology, political science, geography, economie and social history, sociology, social sciences, psychology, economics and management science. Strengths and weaknesses are focused and the paper is a basis for an international comparison of the situation of the social sciences.
