Abstract: [fre] Le bicentenaire de la disparition de Turgot conduit à réexaminer l'œuvre d'un économiste peu connu aujourd'hui en dépit de sa bonne réputation. Dans la pre­mière partie, il est montré que Turgot a hésité entre plusieurs théories de la valeur mais qu'il a fait avancer la thèse utilitariste dans la direction qui sera celle des marginalistes et qu'il a anticipé avec une assez grande précision l'analyse ricar-dienne des coûts comparatifs. Dans la seconde partie, portant sur le prix des grains, il apparaît que Turgot a complété avec une grande finesse le plaidoyer physiocratique en faveur de la liberté du commerce intérieur comme extérieur. The first part of this article describes Turgot's hesitancy between different theories of value and explains that he improved the utilitarist theory in the direction that will be the marginalists' one, and that he anticipated quite precisely Ricardo's analysis of comparative costs. In the second part, which deals with corn prices, it appears that Turgot completed with great acuteness the physiocrat plead in favour of liberalisation of home trade as well as foreign trade.
