Abstract: [fre] Le rapport patrimoine-revenu, bien que moins connu que le rapport capital-produit, n'est cependant pas ignoré de l'analyse économique. Les études qui en ont été faites ont toutefois surtout insisté sur certains facteurs de variation en volume de ce rapport (essentiellement l'épargne), négligeant d'autres facteurs de varia­tion en volume (l'endettement) et les facteurs de variation de prix (effet de l'inflation sur le revenu, plus ou moins values des actifs patrimoniaux ou des éléments de passif). Il est d'abord présenté un modèle simple exprimant le rapport patrimoine-revenu en fonction des principaux facteurs de variation. Il est ensuite montré en utilisant des données concernant la France et les Etats-Unis que le modèle proposé constitue un bon instrument d'analyse des évolutions constatées. Enfin, un nouvel éclairage est donné du fameux problème de la « constance » en longue période du rapport macro-économique patrimoine-revenu. The Wealth-Income Ratio of households, although less known thon the capital-product ratio, has not been ignored by thé économie analysis. But most of thé studies concerning this ratio put thé stress on one unique cause of variation : the saving ratio of households. Doing so, they neglect other important factors such as the indebtment behavior, the influence of inflation on the variation of nominal incarne and on capital gains. It is1 first provided in this paper a simple formula expressing the Wealth-Income Ratio as a function of all these factors. Then it is1 shown, using data from France and United States, that the provided relationship is a useful tool for analysing the observed évolution of the ratio. Finally, we corne back to the famous question of the " constancy " of the Wealth-Income Ratio in the long run.
