Abstract: [fre] Cet article a deux objectifs : le premier est de décrire les modalités de mise au point d'une innovation majeure propre à l'industrie de la fonderie, le procédé de coulée en moule plein ; le second objectif est de dégager quelques propriétés caractéristiques du processus d'innovation, en montrant les modifications qu'il suscite dans les structures productives. Au terme d'une rapide étude des grandes orientations du changement technique en fonderie, qui montrera comment se déterminent le contenu et l'orientation de la recherche tchnique dans cette activité, nous identifions les facteurs technico-scientifiques qui apparaissent comme déter­minants dans la genèse de l'innovation. Puis nous proposons une formulation générale de l'impact de l'innovation sur les structures productives de la fonderie, en mettant en évidence la tendance simultanée à l'accroissement de la complexité des procédés techniques et à la simplification des modes opératoires. It is meant both to describe the adjustment method.s of a major innovation in casting industry : the Fullmold Casting Process, and to show some characteristics of the. innovation process by stressing the changes it creates in the productive structures. After taking a comprehensive view of the major technical changes in casting industry in order to show how the contents of technical research as well as its orientation have been determined, we describe technical and scientific factors which seem to be the most important in the innovation process.. Then we try to give a general description of the impact this innovation has had on the productive structures of casting industry and thereby emphasize that as technological processes become more sophisticated operating methods get all the easier.
