Abstract:
[fre] M. de malestroit and the quantity theory of money. . The analysis of the controversy between Bodin and Malestroit conclucles by reversing commonly held views. It is Malestroit, and not Boclin, who is concernee! with the quantity theory of money. However the analogy between Malestroit's approach and the quantity theory is not an immediate analogy because Malestroit developed his arguments in terms of money of account and the quantity theory in terms of money as a medium of exchange. This difference may explain why the history of economic theories remembers Bodin and not Malestroit. [eng] M. de malestroit and the quantity theory of money. .
