Abstract: [eng] Note on the endogenouty of education in the earning function . . The relationship between education and earnings continues to give rise to numerous theoretical controversies, the debate regarding the most efficient way to capture such a relation statistically is by no means weaker. The paper is mainly concemed with an econometric issue encountered when estimating education retums. The problem refers to the very structure of the earnings fonction model. The assumption of exogeneity for the education variable is tested and invalidated by the Hausman test. Alternative estimation is then suggested. Si la relation éducation-salaire continue de susciter de nombreuses contro­verses théoriques, le débat portant sur la manière la plus efficace pour saisir statistiquement cette relation n'est pas moins vif.. L'article est concerné, à titre principal, par un problème économétrique rencontré à l'occasion de l'estimation des rendements de l'éducation. Le problème renvoie à la structure même du modèle de la fonction de gains.. L'hypothèse d'exogénéité de la variable éducation est testée et infirmée par le test d'Hausman. Une méthode d'estimation alternative est alors proposée.
