Abstract: [fre] L'information économique aujourd'hui. Marché et institutions. . Cette contribution pose la question des rôles respectifs du marché et des institutions dans la collecte et la diffusion de l'information économique. On com­mence par brosser un tableau des besoins en ce domaine et de leur évolution : la demande croît rapidement ; elle porte sur les données de plus en plus détaillées ; elle émane d'acteurs publics mais maintenant aussi privés les plus divers.. Du côté de l'offre, l'approche analytique, à rebours du mouvement de l'histoire, consiste à traiter les institutions, ici le service public de l'information économique, comme un remède aux échecs du marché. Est discuté le problème de la tarification des produits de l'agence statistique publique. [eng] Economic information nowadays. Market and public services. . This paper raises the issue of ihe parts to be played respectively by private and governmental bodies in gathering and disseminating economie data. It begins by a reviewing of the existing needs and their trends. Demand is increasing rapidly for ever more detailed data ; it cornes now not only from governmental departments but also private customers with specific and diverse needs.. When considering the supply, the analytical approach regards the governmental institutions (i. e. the public economie information services) as a remedy to the market failures. What is then discussed here are the principles for pricing the products and services of a governmental statistical agency.
