Abstract:
[fre] Déterminants of Japanese Foreign Direct Investment. Locational Attractiveness of European Countries to Japanese Multinational. . [eng] Determinant of japanese foreign direct investment : locational attractiveness of european countries to japanese multinationals. . The present paper analyses the importance of " diversification " and " globalization " strategies of Japanese multinationals in determining FDI to Europe. In the late 1980s Japanese multinationals were locating their subsidiaries in Europe not merely to transfer production and sales facilities but to establish a concerted management System abroad wich included finance, distribution and R&D together with production.. As for France, locational advantage in logistics and big domestic market, together with recent deregulation and liberalization of financial market were the reasons behind the increase in Japanese FDI.
