Le développement des marchés émergents repose d'abord sur une forte progression des flux internationaux de capitaux privés depuis le début des années quatre-vingt-dix. La première partie de cet article est consacrée à l'analyse de ces flux, aux conséquences qui en découlent en matière de volatilité et de performances des marchés et à l'articulation entre les sphères réelle et financière. Est abordée ensuite la question des politiques devant être menées afin de promouvoir les marchés émergents : quel degré de coopération entre les places financières, quel dispositif réglementaire ? [eng] Emerging markets : an overview. . The development of emerging markets is based on growing private capital flows since the beginning of the 90's. The first part of this article is devoted to an analysis of these flows, underlying volatility and return considerations and the question of the articulation between the real and the financial spheres. Then, we focus on policies which should be implemented to promote and monitor emerging markets, regarding the domestic and international aspects of coordination.
