[eng] European entrepreneurs in the late 1930s. . The article emphasizes the role of owner-managers in most of the European countries and it tries to underline the reasons for and the consequences of this prominent position. It shows that proprietary management was relevant to the size and the structure of the firms and that owners-managers cannot be considered as responsible for the poor economic performances experienced by several European countries in the interwar period.
