Genèse du discours sur la nouvelle économie aux Etats-Unis

Abstract: [eng] The origin of new economy discourse in us. . Discourse on the new economy is rooted in the shift from the original free, academic internet to the beginnings of today's mass, commercial Internet. Some computer specialists tried to maintain the founding tradition by proposing an alternative economic model : freeware. Others, by contrast, saw the internet as a medium like any other for advertising and doing business. Lastly, certain members of the computing intelligentsia saw a « new economy » in cyberspace. This article analyses the origins of these three discourses on the basis of texts from the magazine Wired. [fre] Le discours sur la nouvelle économie s'inscrit dans le passage de l'Internet universitaire et gratuit du démarrage à l'Internet de masse, commercial d'aujourd'hui. Certains informaticiens ont voulu conserver la tradition initiale et proposer un modèle économique alternatif, celui des logiciels libres. D'autres internautes ont, au contraire, imaginé de faire de la publicité et du commerce sur Internet, comme sur n'importe quel média. Enfin, certains membres de l'intelligentsia de l'informatique ont vu dans le cyberespace une « nouvelle économie ». Cet article se propose d'analyser la genèse de ces trois discours, en prenant comme ligne directrice des textes analysés, la revue Wired.
