Abstract: [eng] With regard to European monetary union projects and to a new Lomé Convention between European economic community and A.C.P. countries, this paper first considers the implications of a possible European monetary union for the African countries belonging to the franc zone : this union would not need a change in the legal rules of the franc zone, but it would strenghten the stability of the rate of exchange and require a tighter monetary policy in the African countries. Secondly, allowing to the negative effects of the lack of African monetary integration, due to the inconvertibility of many currencies and to uncoordinated adjustment policies, the paper stresses the benefits which could result for the all Africa from a monetary cooperation between European economic community and the African countries outside the franc zone. According to the countries, such a cooperation could be more or less close to that within the franc zone. [fre] Face aux perspectives d'union monétaire européenne et de renouvellement de convention entre la Communauté européenne et les Etats d'Afrique-Caraïbes-Pacifique, l'article examine en premier lieu les implications d'une éventuelle union monétaire européenne pour les pays appartenant à la zone franc : une telle union n'obligerait pas à modifier les règles juridiques de la zone franc, mais elle renforcerait la stabilité des taux de change des pays membres et exigerait d'eux une plus grande rigueur dans leur politique monétaire. En second lieu l'article constatant les effets dommageables du manque d'intégration monétaire en Afrique, lié à l'inconvertibilité de nombreuses monnaies et au caractère non coordonné des politiques d'ajustement, montre les avantages qui pourraient résulter pour l'ensemble des pays africains d'une coopération monétaire entre l'Europe et les pays hors zone franc. Cette coopération pourrait être plus ou moins proche selon les pays de celle qui existe à l'intérieur de la zone franc.
