Abstract: [fre] La maîtrise par les acteurs locaux de la production, puis de la diffusion d'informations économiques et sociales affinées, fiables et adaptées aux besoins, est une nécessité. Elle suppose la mise en place d'observatoires locaux. Pour être opérationnels et légitimes, ces derniers doivent remplir des conditions scientifiques et techniques, tout en tenant compte des paramètres institutionnels. [eng] It has become a necessity for local actors, such as associations, non-profit organizations, local communities, regions... To master the production and the circulation of accurate and reliable economic and social data. These data should be adapted to their needs. It entails the setting up of observation and information tems. To be operational and legitimate, these « observatories » should comply with scientific and technical standards, and at the same time, take into account institutional parameters.
