Néo-classicisme versus institutionnalisme

Abstract: [eng] Each academic economist has heard of the recurrent debate on the method «neo-classicism versus institutionalism». Today, the progress of both scientific research programmes is extremely visible. Static analysis and dynamic analysis, in a new synthetic and formal way, become complementary. The implicit process of individual decision and the influence of institutional framework can be used to describe economic human action. The history of intellectual ideas in American and European social science makes it possible to build a modern synthesis. [fre] II n'y a peut-être plus besoin de débattre sur le thème « néo-classicisme versus institutionnalisme». La complémentarité des programmes de recherche en Economie peut aujourd'hui l'emporter dès lors qu'on a mieux apprécié les « trajectoires intellectuelles » suivies par les tenants de chacune des approches. Ainsi l'analyse dynamique et l'analyse statique offrent deux perspectives complémentaires. On peut donc comprendre l'esprit pragmatique, l'orientation vers les buts et le progrès implicitement définis dans l'approche néo-classique. On peut aussi comprendre l'accent mis sur des logiques institutionnelles dans les approches concurrentes. L'affinement des modèles économiques constitue aujourd'hui un dépassement.
