Abstract: [eng] From Sectoral to Macro-Economic Impact of Cuts in Social Contributions. This paper analyses the consequences of cuts in social contributions, put in place from 1993 to 1997, on low skilled employment, taking into account the fact that they inequally benefited to sectors. Indeed, they mainly benefited to the service sector. In the latter, the share of low skilled employment stabilised while it continued to decline in manufacturing sectors. In the end, the assessment of the number of low skilled jobs created by cuts in social contributions does not depend strongly on whether interactions between sectors are taken into account or not, as competition and spillover effects tend to compensate each other. Cet article analyse l'impact des allégements généraux de cotisations sociales sur l'emploi peu qualifié (de 1993 à 1997) en tenant compte du fait qu'ils ont inégalement profité aux différents secteurs de l'économie. De fait, ils ont majoritairement bénéficié au tertiaire, secteur dans lequel la part de l'emploi peu qualifié s'est stabilisée alors qu'elle continuait à se contracter dans l'industrie. Au total, la prise en compte des interactions entre les secteurs ne modifie pas fortement l'évaluation du nombre d'emplois peu qualifiés créés par les allégements de cotisations sociales. Ces interactions sont pourtant bien à l'œuvre, mais les effets d'entraînement et de concurrence existant entre les secteurs ont tendance à se compenser.
