Abstract: [fre] Le phénomène de la corruption ou celui de la lutte contre la corruption ne peuvent se comprendre que par rapport à un référentiel historique et culturel donné, dans un pays donné. Cet article présente l'actualité judiciaire du Maroc et la façon dont le pouvoir politique a traité la question de la corruption (à travers notamment la « campagne d'assainissement » des années 1995 et 1996) en faisant ce détour historique et anthropologique. L'imaginaire juridique et politique marocain qui permet de donner une signification à cet épisode est influencé par le droit communautaire des sociétés segmentaires, le droit musulman et le droit positif d'un régime autoritaire. À partir de là, on doit interpréter la « campagne d'assainissement » et ses suites non pas en termes techniques ou de moralisation de la vie publique, mais en termes de recentrage politique. The phenomenon of corruption or the fight against it cannot be understood without historical or cultural references in any given country. This article presents judicial news in Morocco and the way the political authorities handle the problem (notably the «cleansing campaign» of 1995 and 1996), through historical and anthropological diversion. The Moroccan juridical and political imaginary lends substance to this episode through the influence of the customary laws of segmented societies, Islamic law and the positive laws of an authoritarian regime. As such, the « cleansing campaign » and its follow-ups should be interpreted not in terms of technical or moralizing of public life, but in terms of political re-centralizing.
