The history of a journal: Banca Nazionale del Lavoro Quarterly Review
Alessandro Roncaglia
BNL Quarterly Review, 2007, vol. 60, issue 243, 3-26
Abstract:
The BNL Quarterly Review was born in 1947, at a time of vigorous renewal of the Bank itself. One of the key problems in the aftermath of the Second World War was to improve and extend the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro's reputation abroad. The Bank was quite well-known in Spain but very little in the English-speaking world where, moreover, it was viewed as having been closely associated with the Fascist regime. The publication of a review for foreign circulation was designed to modifY this situation. In a sense the aim was to render public and explicit the Bank's new international openness and the desire to take an active part in international banking circles.
