Abstract:
[Paper in French] By focusing on the relationship between on one hand caloric consumption and on the other hand income and access to sources of supply of households, this work explores the role of growth or income transfer policies on food security in Niger. Two important results emerge from the econometric estimates carried out. On one hand, it appears that access to sources of supply is a potential determinant of the level of food security. On the other hand in accordance with the recent literature, the impact of changes in income on caloric intake depends on the initial level of caloric consumption in the household and decreases with the level of food security.
