Credit in Southern Italy: The Banco di Napoli Case Study

Abstract:
This article deals with the restructuring process under way in the credit market of the ltalian Mezzogiorno. It briefly considers the features and the effects of the so called consolidation process which brought an end to southern banking autonomy. The case of the Banco di Napoli rescue is then considered through analysis of its privatization process.
