The First Time in the United States

Abstract: During his travels in the Usa, Rossi-Doria described the numerous meetings he had with the persons in charge of the various branches of the Truman administration. He met officials of the State Department, technicians of the Bureau of Reclamation, of the Office of Foreign Agricultural Relations, of the Department of Interior, and of the Farmers’ Home Administration. Rossi-Doria also met Italian researchers such as Rollier, Croatto and Buzzati, and set about building relations between the University of Berkeley and Portici Research Centre. He then visited California and Tennessee, interested in particular in the Tennessee Valley Authority’s work, and the College of Agriculture of the University of California. His many notes trace out an extensive picture of American agriculture.
