Abstract:
This paper takes its place in the line of studies analyzing the preconditions for ICT investment to have a positive impact on firm performance, verifying the complementarity between inputs examined, namely ICT, organizational change and training. The empirical analysis is conducted on a balanced panel of Italian manufacturing firms covering the period 2001-2006. By drawing on different statistical methods, we found that the interaction between ICT, organizational change and training has a positive impact on labour productivity; this result is confirmed, in both estimates, only for the subsample of firms that involved their employees in training courses.
