ROMANIA AFTER 25 YEARS OF TRANSITION: THE IMPACT OF THE INSTITUTIONAL AND LEGISLATIVE FRAMEWORK

Florin Bonciu

Contemporary Legal Institutions, 2014, vol. 6, issue 1, 24-32

Abstract: The paper analyzes the impact of certain aspects (such as the adoption of Western style democracy, the adoption of profit as implicit rule of the game and the accession to the European Union) on the direction and achievements of the transition process in Romania. The aim of the paper is to identify and differentiate the role of objective and intrinsic factors versus the role of subjective factors in the establishment of a new institutional and legislative framework in Romania since 1990.
