Abstract: Destination management» represents the challenging task of serving the various needs of tourists and tourism-related businesses as well as the local communities, local businesses and industries in order to maximize customer value (WTO, 2007). It is very important in sustainable development of tourism in the region. The purpose of this paper is to identify the need of destination management in tourist region and to analyze the relationship between this concept and actual development of tourism in south region of Albania. This study is based on previous theoretical discussion regarding tourist destination and destination management and is based on previous researches on the tourism development.Results indicate that there is a great important that a tourist destination to manage with carefully in according to motivations and needs of tourists and community's needs.
