Abstract:
In the case of full economic crisis, in the 2012, the international tourism industry has registered a historical record: over a billion international tourist arrivals. In Romania, even though in has a growth trend, the incoming circulation is ranked at a very low position (approximately 1.6 million foreign tourist per year). In this context, this study analyses the main continuity and changes elements developed in the recent years on the traditional active markets (source) for international tourism: ranking the main countries of tourists ‘origin and the substantial alterations reported in the last decade; the various evolutions of demand for the international tourism and realizing specific typologies. Also, there are evaluated the promotion efforts of Romanian tourism on the international market and in the end, strategic priorities for short term are highlighted.
