Abstract: This essay is an account of the reception of Émile Durkheim’s thought in Colombia. Special attention is given to its application aand use by Colombian sociologists, educators and historians. It also covers the teaching of Durkheim’s work in universities and the translation of his texts by Colombian scholars.
