Abstract:
The development problems of the present society could be resumed in a synthetically manner as being included in two large conceptual categories: poverty and competitiveness. The EU action through regional policy consists in trying to cover all these types of problems, providing support both for convergence and competitiveness. As regards the competitiveness, supporting the research in the university environment and promoting the results thus obtained in the business environment stands for a great challenge concerning its successful implementation and impact.
