Abstract: RESUMEN Este trabajo se ha planteado como objetivo medir el efecto de los recursos humanos disponibles en el desempeño de la empresa individual. Partiendo del distrito industrial como definición del contexto interorganizativo, proponemos un modelo que incluye los factores vinculados a la dotación de recursos humanos disponibles a la empresa: la información y el aprendizaje colectivos y la participación de las instituciones locales. Los resultados del trabajo sugieren que las empresas deben desarrollar una capacidad distintiva para dar forma y explotar los recursos humanos externos. ABSTRACT The aim of this paper is to measure the effect of the external human resources on the individual firm performance. Using the Industrial District as interorganizational context definition, we propose a model including a set of factors associated with the endowment of external human resources: collective information and learning, and local institutions participation. Findings of the paper suggest that firm must develop a distinct capacity in order to shape and exploit external human resources.
