The Late Spanish Translation of The Federalist Papers and the concept of Federalism in Argentina at the time

Abstract: Throughout the second half of the 19th century a process took place in Latin America in order to recover the original concept of federalism for the first time mentioned in the United States at the end of 18th century. This paper seeks to better understand how the Spanish translation of The Federalist-Argentina, 1868-would have been an attempt to look back at the North American model and to restore the original meaning of the concept, not only from the semantic perspective but also through its practical implementation as a political system in the specific case of Argentina.
